Boston, MA  – January 8, 2025 –  Girl Security, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing girls and young women in national security, today announced the appointment of Camille Stewart Gloster as Strategic Advisor to lead its new portfolio on “Building a Blueprint: Intergenerational Approaches to Complex Security Threats,” effective January 2025.

The groundbreaking initiative will address critical issues at the intersection of national security, technology, and social impact, with a focus on key trends including quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and global health and biosecurity. As with all Girl Security programming, this portfolio will join youth alongside leaders to examine key challenges and responses.

“Camille is a multi-faceted, globally-recognized leader who has a proven track record of designing and developing viable solutions to key national security challenges at the intersection of security, technology, and social impact, while also emphasizing the importance of intergenerational approaches. Together, we will build a blueprint for transformative action, recognizing that today’s complex security challenges demand solutions that span generations.”

Stewart Gloster brings extensive cross-cutting expertise in cyber and technology policy, having worked across all branches of government and corporate leadership. In her recent role as Deputy National Cyber Director, Technology & Ecosystem Security, Stewart Gloster led the Office of the National Cyber Director Workforce Strategy, which directs national action on developing tech talent and centers a focus on skills, diversity, and an ecosystem approach. Her appointment will bridge Girl Security’s youth development focus with intergenerational solutions to complex security challenges.

“This initiative will revolutionize how we develop innovative solutions to safeguard our future. By fostering collaboration across generations, we can create a blueprint for solutions that are not only responsive to the world as it is, but also to the world as the next generation envisions it,” said Stewart Gloster. “We cannot afford to develop solutions that do not center the needs and aspirations of the next generation who will inherit the consequences of our choices, nor can we overlook the innovative potential of a tech-native generation. I am excited to join Girl Security on this journey and see how this work transforms the industry.”

The portfolio will develop frameworks to help government, industry, and education leaders prepare for a future shaped by dynamic security challenges and analyze vulnerabilities that require urgent intergenerational and holistic responses.

This initiative advances Girl Security’s mission to empower girls and young women from underrepresented communities with the skills, experiences, networks, and support needed to pursue national security careers. The organization works to amplify girls’ and women’s voices on national security issues with gendered impacts, building toward a more diverse security workforce capable of leading responsible and equitable security outcomes.
